HAVI Spain wins diversity & inclusion awards for second consecutive year

A proud moment for HAVI Álvaro Garrido expressed his pride in HAVI’s achievements, stating.

Sustaining commitment to diversity

Looking into HAVI Spain’s achievements in diversity and inclusion, these successes are made possible through various innovative initiatives designed to embed these values deeply within the organizational culture:

  • Awareness and education: Implementing diversity plans, climate surveys, and initiatives for significant days such as International Women’s Day and Pride Month, alongside roundtable discussions for Cognitive Diversity Day.
  • Training and onboarding: Ensuring diversity issues are addressed from the onboarding stage through continuous communication and training campaigns.
  • Community engagement: Collaborating with institutions and participating in DE&I events to promote the employability of individuals at risk of exclusion, such as those with Down syndrome and functional diversity.
  • Promoting diversity: Emphasizing multicultural and generational diversity, supporting senior talent, and implementing guidelines to prevent selection bias.
  • Corporate volunteering: Encouraging personal involvement in solidarity actions, such as participation in activities with Ronald McDonald House Charities and races against cancer.
  • Leadership commitment: Ensuring management develops and maintains a diverse and inclusive culture, integrating DE&I into corporate strategy, and promoting a “Safe Space” and “Speak Up” culture.

Voices of dedication

Brenda Velázquez, a member of the Finance team and the Diversity Ambassadors Team, shared her perspective:

“In the two years I’ve been at HAVI, I’ve seen that HAVI works to make diversity the norm and achieve real equity. In a largely masculinized sector, HAVI breaks gender stereotypes, and female drivers and warehouse assistants have the same opportunities and responsibilities as their male colleagues. Although the percentage of women still does not reach men’s in some departments, there’s a commitment, and from our team of Diversity Ambassadors, we focus on the visibility and importance of female role models to inspire women. HAVI promotes development and training initiatives such as the Empowering Women’s Talent program, and co-responsibility and breastfeeding are supported to promote family conciliation, which is still a thorn in our side. In terms of diversity, HAVI makes sure that each employee feels integrated with their individual characteristics, because we are all diverse and different. At HAVI, we all count.”
