In our ongoing My HAVI Story series, we celebrate colleagues who have helped shape HAVI through their dedication and commitment. This month, we are proud to introduce Ivan Flury, Deputy Team Leader Recycling, who has been part of the HAVI family for an impressive 29 years.
Family, Hobbies and Passion
Ivan is married and the proud father of two children, now aged 25 and 27. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on his motorcycle, which allows him to relax and recharge. Another long- time passion of his is model car racing. He enjoys working with and racing 1:8 scale model cars, combining technical precision with a competitive spirit.
From Electrician to HAVI
Ivan joined HAVI on February 1, 1997. Trained as an electrician, he started as a warehouse employee while also supporting facility management.
“The combination of warehouse operations and facility management was something completely new for me. What impressed me most from the beginning was the strong teamwork and the great colleagues.”
Ivan’s Career Journey at HAVI
Throughout his 29-year journey at HAVI, Ivan has taken on a variety of roles across warehouse operations, facility management, administration, team leadership, and recycling. Each position allowed him to broaden his experience, develop new skills, and contribute to the company’s growth. Today, as Deputy Team Leader Recycling, he continues to support efficient operations while helping drive sustainable processes across the business.
One of Ivan’s proudest achievements is having witnessed HAVI’s growth over nearly three decades. A particular highlight was reaching record throughput volumes together with his team.
Memories That Last
One memory still stands out today. In 1999, McDonald’s Switzerland rewarded all HAVI employees with a trip to Disneyland Paris – an experience Ivan remembers fondly.
Another special moment was seeing leadership step in during challenging times.
“I remember our former Managing Director coming into the warehouse to help with picking when we were short-staffed. It showed that everyone was willing to work together and support the team.”
Passion for People and Teamwork
Today, Ivan enjoys the flexibility and independence of his role in Recycling. His responsibilities include planning daily operations, coordinating incoming returns, and ensuring recyclable materials are processed efficiently.
What motivates him most after all these years is simple:
“The working environment, my colleagues, and the strong team spirit motivate me every day.”
He particularly values the reliability, respect, and willingness to help that define the culture at HAVI.

After nearly three decades with HAVI, Ivan has a simple message for future employees:
