On 15 December, colleagues in the Netherlands came together to mark the official opening of HAVI’s renovated office in Amersfoort. The moment provided an opportunity to reflect on the development of HAVI Netherlands, recognise the teams behind the project, and formally open a workplace designed to support future needs.
The opening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony carried out by Anja de Greef (Finance), Willem Mulder (Safety & Facility) and Frits van de Pol (Waste & Recycling), who together bring more than 115 years of experience at HAVI Netherlands. Their involvement reflected the company’s strong people culture, where long-term commitment, experience and continuity are valued.
HAVI Netherlands: Then and Now
During the opening, Olaf van den Brink, Managing Director Netherlands, shared a speech reflecting on the development of HAVI in the Netherlands.
In his remarks, Olaf looked back at the organization’s evolution from McDonald’s Logistics & Services (MLS) in Barneveld, via the Nijkerk location, to today’s HAVI Logistics operation in Amersfoort. Over time, HAVI Netherlands has continued to adapt to changing business needs and operating environments.
While HAVI Netherlands today operates as a strong, independent organisation, the long-standing partnership with McDonald’s remains an important part of its history and daily operations. This service-driven approach continues to shape how HAVI works, supported by colleagues who bring knowledge, reliability and dedication to their roles every day.
Olaf also addressed how the operating environment for HAVI Netherlands has evolved. In addition to McDonald’s, HAVI Netherlands now serves a growing portfolio of customers, each with different requirements and expectations. Supporting these customers and continuing to grow alongside them is a key element of the organisation’s strategy.
At the same time, HAVI Netherlands continues to adapt how it operates and collaborates, making use of digital developments and riding on the potential of new technologies such as AI and robotics to further strengthen efficiency, insight and service delivery.
Preparing for the Future
Looking ahead, HAVI Netherlands is focused on becoming more sustainable, more data-driven, and on further automating processes, while maintaining a strong focus on people and collaboration.
The redesigned Amersfoort office supports these objectives by providing a work environment that reflects how teams operate today and how they will work in the future. With improved ergonomics, a refreshed look and feel, and spaces that encourage collaboration, the office is designed to support both performance and connection.
